The Boao Forum For Asia (BFA) is a non-governmental, non-profit, regular, and international organization. The forum was initiated in 1998 by former Philippine President Ramos, former Australian Prime Minister Hawke and former Japanese Prime Minister Hosokawa Hiroshi. It was officially announced on February 27, 2001.

China's Hainan Boao is the permanent location of the Forum's headquarters. Since 2002, the Forum has held annual meetings in Boao every year.
